This test & tune was at the new ¼ mile Dallas Raceway in Crandall, TX. The track is nicknamed "The Concrete Palace" because the entire facility is concrete, and is one of the top of the line tracks in the U.S. On this trip I decided to take my 1990 GSXR1100 oil cool outlaw bike, which is a 75” wheel base nitrous inhaling beast! This is a seven second non wheelie bar bike and can be a hand full going down the ¼ mile. I built this bike last year and I’m very happy with the performance of the bike.

Komodo this season, then you know that something special is happening. First, let’s wind back the clock; early this season Otter dumped the bike at Eagles Canyon Raceway at over 100 mph on a cold track. The bike cart wheeled nicely and left us with a hefty repair bill. On top of that, Otter wasn’t feeling so well with a bruised liver, lacerated lung, broken ribs and a badly bruised abdomen.


Komodo Gear went to Brainerd International Raceway to support our sponsored riders, Gabe Blevins and Geoff Egerman, of Team Atomic. Team Atomic is similar to many teams, with 2 devoted racers backed by family, friends and a few sponsors. Don’t take the word “similar” to be a negative; far from it. Most teams who race at this level are very committed to their sport.
